The above mushroom was originally posted under a different name because we most probably had overlooked some of its features and were led to incorrect identification. A closer examination of the mushroom - at the suggestion of my friend John Gavalas, [Thank you, John.] – led us to the species of Hygrocybe conica. Yet, as the blogger is relatively inexperienced in the realm of mushrooms, and mushrooms are so difficult to identify, any further assistance would be welcome and appreciated.
