This crocus is widespread and native
to Central, Southern, and Western mainland Greece,
as well as to the Aegean and Ionian islands.
It can be found in elevations between 200 and 1800 m
from September to early December.
When in bloom,
it is pale to deep lilac-blue or white.
Interesting to note that
no leaves are present at flowering time.
A very common flower,
yet, unquestionably beautiful for my taste!
